Ruth Sievers

Ruth Sievers is a Reston, Va., based artist who works in multiple media, but whose work is primarily in oils and charcoal. She is a realist who loves a wide variety subject matter and most especially people and animals. She paints and draws herself, her friends, her family, cows, cats, sheep, etc., and people she captures via her own photography while out and about. Ruth studied figure painting with Joe Shannon at the Corcoran School of Art and was a long time student of Diane Tesler at The Art League. She has awards from numerous local art groups, including the Art League, the League of Reston Artists, the Arlington Artists’ Alliance, the Springfield Art Guild, Arts Herndon’s Annual Portrait Competition and Arlington Cultural Affairs.
